Help Me! Help Me!

Today is Blogfriend Participation Day! Why is it Blogfriend Participation Day, you ask? Well, I’ll tell you (and thanks for asking!).
I was working on my free-form summary for SR, and I got stuck. Maybe stuck isn’t the right word, since I wasn’t mired in quicksand. Stumped might be more accurate. I was able to push forward, but the thing that stumped me is like a pebble in my shoe. Not enough to lame me up, just annoy the hell out of me.
Here’s a brief setup:
Just Throwin’ the Cubes
by Lynn Daniels on Monday, January 30, 2006 at 11:40 am
For those of you wondering, yesterday’s Messed Up Tune was “Happy Together” by The Turtles. That one got pretty funky, didn’t it? I’m with Rex — threw the cubes was a pretty cool little phrase.
After my Big Burnout (hereafter to be known as BB), I had decided in order to avoid a repeat performance I would start taking weekends off from writing. But since I’d taken a couple of days off last week in mouth misery, I ignored my own edict and did some writing work this weekend. It was a pretty productive weekend for me, if I say so myself. Even though I still have two more crits waiting on deck, I did finish the one I was working on. I also got what I have so far on my handwritten summary typed into the computer. It turned out to be just over 25 double-spaced pages! Guess I’d done more than I’d thought. On top of that, I added another 5 handwritten pages to the summary last night.
Tunes. Messed Up. Here.

Cheesy title, I know. But I’ve run dry on clever ways to introduce our Sunday Messed Up Tunes. Maybe I’ll brainstorm titles; tuck them into my hip pocket to use later.
Cheesy title or not, it’s Sunday, which means time for another Messed Up Tune. Ready? Here we go!

Don’t you just love it when the dentist sneaks up and blindsides you by doing more to you than you expected?
Wow. That almost sounded dirty. Didn’t mean it that way.
I mentioned yesterday that’s what happened to me. But a lot of sleep (helped along by a little Vicadin) has me feeling better today. Unfortunately, now I’ve got a temporary lisp, and it’s driving me insane. I’ll get over it. And it’ll go away. Eventually. I hope.
At least he said I was easy to work on.
Anyway…updates.

We finished cleaning this morning. The appraiser has been here. And I’m back from the dentist.
I pulled my back while cleaning, and my thigh muscles are sore. The dentist ended up doing more work than I expected today, and I’m numb and in pain at the same time. Is that even possible?
At least the appraiser didn’t do anything to me.
Hopefully, I’ll feel better letter and will be able to post a little more.

I’m actually having to post this before I go to bed because I don’t think I’ll have much time tomorrow. Why? Because tomorrow has been dubbed CLEANING DAY. Doesn’t that sound like fun?
Yeah. Didn’t to me either.

I’ve been tagged! Heather tagged me for this one, and I’ve been working on it all night. I think I’m finally satisfied with my answers…
Not So Messed Up After All
by Lynn Daniels on Monday, January 23, 2006 at 3:12 pm
Today’s first order of business — yesterday’s Messed Up Tune. Y’all are getting too good. It was, in fact, “When Will I Be Loved”, originally performed by The Everly Brothers, covered by Linda Ronstadt (who most of you mentioned) and country music’s Vince Gill. Great job everybody!
Messin’ it Up Again

I think we’ve finally found our house. We just got home from submitting our offer, so now it’s in the seller’s hands. Y’all please keep your fingers crossed for us!
In the meantime, it’s time for another Sunday Messed Up Tune. Just in case you’re new to it, I’ll post the rules again.
The rules:
- Take the lyrics to a favorite song.
- Go to Babelfish, translate the lyrics into German, then from German to French, and finally from French back into English.
- Post the results verbatim.
- Invite friends to guess the song based on the interesting new lyrics.
The tune:
I am misled, badly treated. When am I liked? Am I was placed downwards, me am the painful round `. when been me liked? If I find a new man who I wish for my, it breaks my heart in both, always arrives to him each time. I am blue, me was formed too much. When am I liked? When am I liked? does it explain me, when I am liked?
Any guesses? As usual, I’ll post the answer tomorrow. Hope everybody’s having a wonderful weekend!
P.S. How’s that DD coming, Tess?
