It’s Sunday! Do You Know What That Means?

by Lynn Daniels on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at 2:11 pm

It’s time for our weekly Messed Up Tune! But first, an update.

Rocky’s still down, but SoundGuy’s ordered a new hard drive and other things to bring him back to life. Now we’re just down to the waiting.

If you’ve recently tried to contact me through my lynndaniels.com e-mail, please know I’m not ignoring you. Unfortunately, the password for that e-mail addy is locked in Rocky, which means I can’t access it right now. But part of SoundGuy’s plan includes getting me access to that hard drive so I can retrieve all the important stuff still languishing there. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to get to that stuff soon.

In the meantime, here’s today’s Messed Up Tune. :headphones:

Rocky’s Sick

by Lynn Daniels on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 9:24 am

Since I hadn’t received any “blue” hints blatant enough for even me to recognize, I opted to work on entering the newest scenes in my FDi30D scene capsule worksheets yesterday afternoon. That’s when Rocky started making odd noises. I kind of thought he was protesting the work…maybe getting upset that I wasn’t working on Jackson’s internal conflict — even though I had worked on that a little earlier.

A Simple Phone Call Would Have Worked

by Lynn Daniels on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at 9:02 pm

The universe was definitely trying to tell me something.

I climb into my truck this morning to take the kids to school, and after I start the engine, the first song that plays through my speakers is a cover of a song originally done by Pink.

My Little Spot

by Lynn Daniels on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at 8:32 pm

It’s amazing how motivating organization can be!

I finally got my corkboards up this afternoon (yes, I had to buy more), and pinned most of my index cards to them. I took a step back to admire my work once I’d finished, and saw quite an array of color. But there was one thing wrong.

It’s a Given

by Lynn Daniels on Monday, April 24, 2006 at 9:03 pm

Certain things in life can always be counted on.

If you’re in a hurry to get somewhere, the slowest driver in creation will pull ahead of you on the road.

If you wash your car, it’s going to rain.

These days, it’s almost guaranteed that the price of gas will be higher on your way home from work than it was when you left for work that morning.

We’re Back, and We’re Messed Up

by Lynn Daniels on Sunday, April 23, 2006 at 9:07 pm

Looks like I just need to come to terms with the fact I won’t be making it to the computer until late in the day to enter my posts. So even though it’s late, here’s today’s Messed Up Tune. There are some giveaway phrases in this one, but I’ve put so many songs through the process tonight, I’m tired and giving up.

Rocky Has a Home

by Lynn Daniels on Friday, April 21, 2006 at 12:41 pm

I’m sitting at my new little desk, on my new little chair, in my writing cubby. Yes, Rocky now has a place to sit that’s not the floor.

We picked up a desk the other day at Office Max, and yesterday I got it put together. Gotta say I’m pretty proud of myself — I normally leave that stuff for SoundGuy. Now all I have to do is get my corkboard on the wall so I can start putting all the index cards up. I’m thinking this one corkboard might not be enough, though. I’ve got a lot of index cards for this story.

ALF Meets Bridget Jones

by Lynn Daniels on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 9:58 am

I woke up sick today.

And since I’m sick (read: avoiding my household chores and vegging on the couch in front of TiVo’d episodes of Smallville), I want to play a little.

I got this idea while reading agent Kristin Nelson’s blog, Pub Rants (just found it this morning).

The Return of Old Friends and Old Itches

by Lynn Daniels on Monday, April 17, 2006 at 12:23 pm

Funny how things can do a complete about-face so quickly and without much warning. It wasn’t so long ago that I was taking weekends off from writing in order to avoid another writing burnout. Now it’s the exact opposite. This weekend, I took a break from unpacking and cleaning and laundry (Ha! Take that, family!) to work a bit on my writing.
