Over the past couple weeks, I’ve been moving all my photos over to a new external hard drive and trying to get them organized. A monumental task in itself, lemme tell ya. But it got me looking at the pictures again.
Add that to the fact that not only was last Saturday my one year non-smoking anniversary ( 
), but it also marked the date we left for last year’s vacation. Kind of a melancholy thing for me, since we’re not going out west this summer.
But enough of that.

MiniMe’s been imitating Gil the Crab and telling me about this commercial for more than a year. I finally saw it. It was worth the wait! MiniMe and I watched this over and over and laughed ’til we cried.

You know what really sucks? When good news is immediately followed by bad. After the news I received yesterday, you’d think I’d be having a Cloud 9 week, right?
No such luck.
Let me start by saying I’m mainly posting this as a reminder to keep an eye on your own affairs. And for once, I’m not talking about those of the male-female variety.

It’s Anniversary Day! Major Anniversary Day! And I know I’m using a lot of exclamation points, but I deserve it!
Why?
Because one year ago today was the day I quit smoking! One full year as a non-smoker! WOO HOO!

I think it’s time for a good ol’ weight-related post. Hey, I’m female. Whaddya want from me?
Not too long ago, at my doctor’s request (after I complained about extra tonnage moving in and registering to vote), I had the “female panel” blood test done. As I waited for the results, I wigged SoundGuy a little by telling him I hoped the tests came back showing a problem.
Is this another female thing, like the gray hair thing I mentioned recently? Because he was totally confused. He couldn’t understand why on earth I’d want something to be wrong with me. Once I explained that if there was a problem there could be a solution, he claimed to get what I was saying. But the speed with which he changed the subject screamed otherwise. That screamed Holy crap, my wife’s insane. Not an unusual sentiment in my household, but still.

I’d forgotten how busy things can get in the summertime!
MiniMe is in the midst of a 3-day tryout for her soccer team. 3 days, 2 hours a pop. Add that to 3xs/week Tae Kwon Do lessons and visits to the public library (MY summer requirement for the kids), and my young curtain-climbers are keeping me pretty busy.
I have managed to eke out a little time for myself, though. I was going to talk about an old hobby that I’ve picked back up, but reading over what I’d originally written bored me to tears. And if I was bored, well, y’all would have probably come after me with pitchforks and torches. So I’ll just talk about the fun stuff.
