Your mondo-rich uncle has just died, and in his will, he left you his one-man state-of-the-art spacerocket. Just in time, too — you’ve been really really really stressed, and you figure a solo two-week vacation in the Final Frontier is just what you need.
Digging into the Treasure Chest

I mentioned that I spent some time with Tess last Friday night. Of course, we always have fun, but this past Friday was a little different. No bar, no loud rock n’ roll, no really old guys trying to pick us up. The plan was to hang out in Tess’s living room and do a little brainstorming and writing stuff. So, like a good little girl, along with the snacks, I brought my SR binder (SR’s been giving me a bit of a fit. I think I know why, but I still need to figure out how to overcome it. *making notes to discuss this in a future post*).
But Friday night, for me, was A Night of Treasures.

First, allow me to express my most sincere thanks for the concern and support you’ve shown me over the past week or so. It has helped me so much. I swear, it’s been like a demented funhouse roller coaster ride. I hate to use such a tired cliche (embellished as it may be), but it’s such the perfect descriptor.
First, the bad stuff happened. Then, a light appeared at the end of the tunnel, growing brighter as the week’s end approached. And then it was cruelly extinguished… until I found out there was a misunderstanding.
Huh. Light again!

I’ve been daring to poke my head out of the cave a little bit yesterday and today. Nearly got my head lopped off yesterday as a result, but a great visit with Tess last night helped tremendously. I might talk a little about our discussions tomorrow here on the blog. But not today. Because today is Saturday Shot day.

I’ve been trying to get online all morning to post today’s blog entry. But now that most of the grocery shopping’s done, laundry’s in the washer & dryer, and tonight’s dinner’s in the Crockpot, I can finally sit down and type.
I’d actually planned for a different blog post today — one that was based on something I saw Friday. I might still post it this week, although it might have already lost it’s timeliness. We’ll see how I feel about it. Anyway, I’d actually planned something different until my weekend started. Then I knew it all had to change.

Don’t you hate it when something you thought was great loses a little of its sparkle?
Yesterday I was so happy about writing again. And believe me, I’m still ecstatic. But it turns out all that new stuff I’d written Monday and Tuesday is useless.
Well, maybe not useless. I just can’t use it yet.
