Saturday Shot 01 SEPT 2007
by Lynn Daniels on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 10:59 am
When I started this blog, I made the decision to refer to my family with codenames. SoundGuy. LittleDude. MiniMe. And I also thought it’d be best if I didn’t show their faces. Not that there’s anything wrong with using their faces and names; many writers do it. It was just my decision.
Today, I’m coming very close to breaking my own rule, all because I’m so pleased with this shot. (Click on the picture for a larger version.)

This picture was taken at last weekend’s soccer tournament. That’s MiniMe in the goal. The Keeper. The one flying in the air to stop the ball. And I caught her mid-flight on “film”!
When I first saw this picture after I downloaded it from my memory card, I literally whooped out loud. Then I called MiniMe over. “Look at you!” I yelled.
We’ve both decided it’s a very cool shot. And you can only almost see her face.
That game ended in a tie, BTW. 1-1.
UPDATE: Apologize for the photo-clicking problems. For some reason, IE wasn’t making the photo clickable, although it was working just fine in Firefox. I’ve added a text link beneath the picture. Hopefully that’ll solve the problem.

Cool shot! Although the clicking for a larger image didn’t work for me. Still cool shot. GO MiniMe!!
Very cool shot – and what Tess said about clicking on the picture.
Heather — Thanks. And the unclickable picture thing is very weird. I’ve added a text link. Does that help?
Thanks, Tess! Question: Does this mean that the pictures I post have never been clickable in IE? Or is it just this one?
Thanks, Lynn – the text link works!
Not Tess but… The photos are usually clickable in IE, but for some reason this one isn’t working. Very weird.
What Heather said. This is the first time I noticed the disturbance in the force.
That is an AWESOME shot!!! I get so excited when I get a good pic like that. And congrats to MiniMe!! (I can’t get the video clip to work, sob. I’m sure it’s just me and my lack of techno-savvy.)
Lynn, I love this shot!!
Thanks, Danica!

Thanks! I admit to be pretty darned stoked about this particular capture. I’ll pass your congrats on to her.
As for the video clip, it could just as easily be an error on my part. It’s my first time embedding a QuickTime movie, and it was just cut-n-paste this time.
Heather and Tess –
Thanks for letting me know. It’s weird, I did the usual copy/paste from Flickr, so I really don’t understand what’s going on here. Glad the link worked.
*snicker* at the disturbance in the force.
