Upgrade

by Lynn Daniels on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 1:52 pm

I finally managed to do that WordPress upgrade, so please let me know if there’s anything you see not working properly.

I know the smilies are wrong — I still need to remember where it is I made that change. Hopefully, they’ll be back soon.

What a Strange Way to Go

by Lynn Daniels on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 2:05 pm

Lately, I’ve started dragging a tote bag with me nearly everywhere I go. In it, I carry a few things to do, so if the need arises, I’m making myself useful instead of staring at the walls. Just some simple stuff: a current crochet project, a book to read, a notebook for the ms of the moment, my iPod, and sometimes a magazine. My bag comes in handy every day during the kids’ TKD lessons (I’ve been writing quite a bit!), and I was glad to have it while sitting in the waiting room during SoundGuy’s dentist appointment yesterday.

Anyway, I was sitting at MiniMe’s TKD lesson last night, and for some reason, I glanced down into my bag, quick-like. I just caught a glimpse of the spine of the book I have in there right now, and do you know what it told me?

It told me I was really really really hungry.

The book was Origin in Death by J.D. Robb. And I knew that was the book I had in there. But do you know what I saw when I glanced down?

Death by Rigatoni

I’d say my tummy was absolutely trying to tell me something, wouldn’t you agree? :yum:

Death Spiral (Dramatic, Much?)

by Lynn Daniels on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 4:11 pm

For the past few days, I’ve been trying to find a topic to blog about. I considered and discarded my rant over my disenchantment with American Idol (the show redeemed itself somewhat when David Cook took the title). I rejected a lament over the strange funk SoundGuy says I go into once a month — especially since over the past couple months I’ve realized it’s true. I decided against a number of other topics, all too depressing to post.

Why?

A quickie post today to crow on my own behalf.

Today is May 16, 2008.

I quit smoking (after 23 years on and off) on June 16, 2006.

:thanks: 23 MONTHS, BAY-BEE! :thanks:

My 2-year anniversary will occur two days before we leave for Yellowstone. 8)

WHERE MY DINNER?!

by Lynn Daniels on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 10:23 am

Three times a week, I take LittleDude to his Tae Kwon Do lesson. The moment we get home, I cook up a frozen Chicken Cordon Bleu, cut it up and put it into a plastic container, and LittleDude eats that for dinner while MiniMe takes her Tae Kwon Do lesson. :yum:

I’m still writing! Can you believe it?

Yesterday, I got all the words I’ve written typed into the computer. Sadly, I couldn’t find the original SR file. Found 8-10 other SR files, but not the one I’d been working off of from NaNoWriMo. So instead of just typing in the 6+ pages I’d just written (handwritten pages :writing: , mind you), I had to type in all 29 pages of the ms.

Who Stole My Muse?

by Lynn Daniels on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 10:54 am

One of the hardest things to do is to write after the muse has left. And I’m not just talking books; blogs count, too. How do you write a daily blog when you can think of nothing to write about?

All week, as I ran through my daily chores and errands, my mind’s been whirling. Could I blog this? Would this be interesting enough to publish online? I’m sure you can deduce the answer to those questions based on the number of posts since last Saturday’s Saturday Shot.

No Objectification Here

by Lynn Daniels on Friday, May 2, 2008 at 9:26 am

Sometimes it’s the little things that make a huge difference in your day. Other times, it’s the offensive things.

Yesterday, it was a trip to the grocery store that boosted my spirit and made me smile. Why? Because as I pulled into the parking lot, some guy in a delivery truck whistled at me.
